Marcia Greenberg Vice President, Human
Resources
Esterline
Marcia Greenberg has served as Esterline’s Vice President Human Resources since joining the company in 1993.
She has an extensive background in law, education, and human resources
management.
During her years with Esterline, the company
has grown rapidly and become global: almost half the workforce now lives and
works outside the U.S.: in Canada, Western Europe, Mexico, and Asia. With this
expanding size and complexity, HR led development of Esterline’s Performance
System (“EPS”), Esterline’s Lean Network, a leadership development program, a
new compensation system, and a consumer-driven health plan, among other
projects.
Prior to Esterline, Ms. Greenberg practiced
law for ten years in Seattle as a partner with Bogle & Gates, focusing in the
areas of employment, labor, and employee benefits law. She was active in the
King County Labor and Employment bar, and a frequent speaker and instructor for
business and professional groups.
Ms. Greenberg began her career as a public
school teacher in Valdez, Alaska during the pipeline construction boom years.
She taught high school and community college courses in English, mathematics and
the social sciences, directed the district’s Gifted & Talented Program, and
served as President and chief negotiator for the Valdez Education Association.
Ms. Greenberg has lived most of her life in
the Pacific Northwest. She earned a BA in political science with honors and a
teaching credential from Portland State University, and a JD with honors from
Northwestern University Law School in Chicago.
Marcia divides her personal time between
boating to remote gunkholes on the Northern British Columbia coast and spending
time with close friends and family. She also enjoys food, wine, bicycling,
traveling, and the arts.
